People, Places, & Things : Cravings
Curated by Eugenie Hsu, Seen & Heard
In the Gallery March 2026
We invited artists to submit original work for our Marc 2026 show “People, Places & Things: Cravings.” This theme is borrowed from a well-known idea in Alcoholics Anonymous: that people, places, and things can act as temptation triggers. For this exhibition, however, the concept is expanded far beyond addiction. The Artists were encouraged to interpret cravings in the broadest sense—what pulls at us, calls to us, or feels difficult to resist.
The artists were given these prompts:
•People who exert a magnetic pull—relationships, figures from memory, strangers, or archetypes
•Places that haunt, comfort, seduce, or promise escape
•Things that symbolize desire, longing, attachment, obsession, nostalgia, or hope
•The tension between restraint and indulgence •What we want, miss, yearn for, or can’t quite let go of.
Artworks will be added soon!
