The mountain awakens. Iron dark earth, witness of eons, dormant no longer. Inspired by Tamalpais in Marin County, California. Sculpted from a live model.
Folklore is literally the way of the people, how we relate to each other, and existence. This piece is a contemporary artifact from the exploration of life in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Wondrous, and sacred objects remind us that there is magic and possibility in every moment. Connecting to spirit, and history inspires Dreaming, open the way to a kinder society.
As a free range child of an artist and a builder, I grew up, surrounded by the means for making, and followed my curiosity as a guide. Art practice has been the most stable part of life, and continues to be a rejuvenating force; art is life.
