Artist Statement

I was drawn to capturing a café scene in Oakland, using light and shadow to highlight quiet interactions within a shared space. The work reflects simple human connections and the subtle cravings for connection and presence that surface in everyday moments. 

I am an Oakland, California based artist whose work explores the quiet, often-overlooked humanity of daily life. Focusing on scenes from streets, markets, and restaurants. My art captures the essence of people going about their routines, reminding viewers that each face in a crowd carries a unique story. Working primarily in oil or charcoal, my pieces aim to reveal the individuality within the collective, inviting contemplation of the shared human experience.
