Artist Statement

Charcuterie boards invite people to gather, snack, and laugh with each other. "The Conversationalist" is inspired by the craving of human connection that comes with sharing food. I crave cheese and cracker pairings just as much as I crave reminiscing with old friends and making new memories with loved ones. 

I’m Olivia Trejo, and I graduated Class of 2025 from the University of California Santa Cruz with a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art. I specialize in acrylic painting that feels eclectic, nostalgic, and whimsical. For my senior project, I created a series of food-themed paintings that explored meals as the setting of human connection. I am continuing this series post-grad, and am always seeking inspiration for the next piece.
