Artworks in this show represent the Black Gaze of the African Diaspora artist, through visual interpretations of history, culture, and experience. as with Freedom’s Eve, January 1, 1863, which spread as “Watch Night” services throughout the land.We honor and celebrate the commitment to preserving and celebrating this art, while exploring the content and context of visual protest, freedom and cultural exchange.
