Artist Statement

By casting everyday objects in a permanent material, I shift it from disposable pleasure to lasting symbol.

A Cheeky Slice is a small sculpture of a single slice of pizza presented on its own plate—elevated, isolated, and impossible to ignore. It captures a familiar moment: the pause before reaching in, the internal negotiation between “just one more” and restraint.

The work lives in that tension between discipline and delight. It asks: when does a simple pleasure become something we can’t quite resist? And why are we so charmed by the things we know we don’t need, but deeply want?
