Artist Statement

Nearly, every day, I go for a walk--sometimes in nature and sometimes on city streets.To stay engaged in the walk, I look around for something I haven’t seen before orsomething I have seen before in a different light. An object or many objects may catch my attention. If I have time, I arrange them and take a picture with my camera phone. Other times, I bring the objects (leaves, sticks, acorns) home and do the arrangement there. Then I take a picture with my big camera or my phone camera. For the images in this show, I raided my daughter’s roses for materials for “The Two Old Birds.” For “The hipsters had a great day at the beach, “ I used rose hips from my garden and took them to the beach.
