The shape of the snake in the piece is: 뱀 which means ‘snake’ in Korean. The painting celebrates the Year of the Snake using ten traditional Korean color palettes. The pattern inside the snake was inspired by ‘Dancheong’ which is a decorative style that you can find on wooden buildings in Korea, especially in temples.
