A Message from Abrams Claghorn Gallery
This week brings one of the more difficult newsletters I've ever had to write. I have to seriously consider closing the gallery. Summer is a notoriously slow season around here, but this year is worse than ever. I do understand that we all are struggling with the cost of living, and handmade craft and art are just not top of list. Obviously, there is very little I can do to fix the economy. I am determined to keep Abrams Claghorn Gallery open. But I simply do not have the funds to pay the expenses out of pocket anymore. In the long run, the only way for the gallery to survive is with your support. This does not necessarily mean donations. I would prefer that you shop here when coming to see an exhibit, thus benefitting the gallery and one or more of our vendors. If you don't want more things, then, yes, please, even a small contribution helps fund art exhibits and other programming that make this place a beautiful part of the community.
Over the last 11 years, we have focused primarily on showcasing early career artists and crafts people from all walks of life. Having produced well over 100 art exhibits, we have shown work by literally hundreds of local artists. Their participation has helped make us what we are today. We have art exhibits and events planned for the next few months, and I want very much to honor those commitments.
Please help us get thru a slow period by coming by this week to shop, Or, go now to our website to make a donation (small or large), or purchase a membership. or a gift card.
Thank you in advance for your contribution,
Robert Abrams
