Seen and Heard : Ken Gold : Sunset/Moonrise

Sunset/Moonrise: A specific moment in time. 
While living in Oxfordshire England there were several large trees in the back of
the property that were home to many crows. Being an animal behaviorist, I would
always watch the crows when I returned from teaching at Oxford Brookes
University, and as it was February, the sun set early. One day I noticed the moon
had risen already above the trees as the sun was setting. The colors of the sky,
the brightness of the moon and the silhouette of this tree were magical. I was
inspired to take this photograph to document the phenomenon. Last year I
decided to create a photo painting using encaustic paint and medium to enhance
this one-of-a-kind image.
