Statement:
These pieces explore making slow art from fast fashion and reusing single-use items. I think that part of how artists can do better in making art about climate change is to consider their materials as well as their message. Express the connectedness of climate change and our everyday lives. Remind viewers that nature as not a faraway other place, something out there, but is all around us every day. And thus not someone else’s problem to fix, but all of ours.
