These small mixed-media works are poetic “riffs” on some of the images from our ongoing, larger work, “Mapping the Wild.” “Mapping the Wild” is a developing, mixed-media project that interpretively records and depicts the restoration, changing habitat and maintenance of several threatened and/or recovered animals. While many people are aware that many animals are, or were once endangered, few know about the restoration and preservation efforts of biologists, park rangers, and wildlife activists, and the communities that play an important part in the ongoing success of this endeavor.
