Messengers is a meditation on a secret swimming hole in the Smith River watershed. Beneath the sparkling surface, I immerse myself in a world painted in shades of emerald and teal. When I climb ashore to warm myself on a sunny, sandy spot, Anise Swallowtail butterflies congregate in a magical, fluttering patch, and sip the moisture that drips off my body.
