The Inspired to Be… book series is designed to amplify positive narratives of Black people while inspiring children to believe in their potential. Each story is inspired by real individuals, empowering young readers to say, “If they can do that, then so can I.” With universal themes of resilience, empathy, and self-belief, these books support both a growth mindset and social-emotional learning skills. The stories are crafted in rhyme and repetition to engage children and help them remember the important, uplifting messages within each tale. Accessible and inspiring for all children, regardless of race, this series is a celebration of possibility, perseverance, and positivity.

Crystel Patterson, based in Sacramento, CA, is the creator of the Inspired to Be... series, a collection of empowering children’s books that amplify positive Black narratives and promote social-emotional learning and growth mindset for kids.

Workshops are fully refundable up to two weeks prior to 1st workshop date.
