I was interested in the idea of a drinking cup that has such powerful religious overtones. Drinking the blood of Christ!!
The drama of that idea. I wanted my Chalice to have details that will draw the observer in close, so I put the light source inside. I have light escaping from the cracks in the images, as if the cup had its own source of energy
It was never meant to be a religious work
Just a way to play with transmitted light.
