Create Your Own Pine Needle Basket Workshop
Sundays 2-5pm
January 26 through February 9
Create your own small basket using pine needles and raffia, a natural palm fiber. In this hands-on workshop, you'll work with locally gathered pine needles to weave a unique coiled basket. Pine needle basketry is a traditional craft with deep roots, including its use as gifts in California Indigenous traditions.
As you weave, you'll explore the global history of basket weaving and its diverse cultural significance. Add a personal touch by embellishing your basket with beads or semiprecious stones, perfect for holding jewelry or small natural treasures.
