The figure peers at a figure seemingly from above as she dances in a pitch dark room on a white oval disc, which can be either a platter or spotlight. Her head is thrown back or absent, replaced by an orifice. Her arms are like a scorpion’s, her breasts are roses of burgundy hair, her back is a granite landscape, her torso is of twisted worms or intestines and her puny, finger-like legs plié. Grace was imagined after many memories of dancing, the ecstacy it brings and the gaze it inevitably earns, whether invited or not.
