My work was created in response to the Art Tag theme, The 6th Extinction, taken from the book of the same name. Art Tag players each produce three pieces on a particular theme chosen by the group. Although I had not read the book, and was initially reluctant to ponder the horrors of climate change and global disaster, the ideas and images came quickly. It made me realize how deeply these issues affect me and how using art to call attention to them, is perhaps the best way I can contribute to helping save our earth.
