Artist Statement

I am interested in the great mysteries of all things and of all time. WOmen are often the portals and the gatekeepers to the unknown and the inexplicable and so are feared and persecuted for this. Art, too, occupies itself with these themes such that women and art and women making art and women in art are inextricably linked. 

Mother Mitochondria

Mitochondria is the powerhouse of a cell and therefore the energy source for humans. The DNA therein is only passed by the mother to sons and daughters. Every son carries only his mother's mitochondrial DNA. All humans come from Africa, from Black Women. The mitochondrial DNA from our ancestral Mother is in every human today. SHE is GOD.
