While experience and training help me control variables, including heat, time and gravity, there is no way to predict the results with perfect accuracy. Because the viewer can see through the transparent and tinted glass, the edges of the adjacent opaque shapes stand out in relief, so that even a piece that is smooth on the surface reveals countless facets and points of entry into the work.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eWhen working with glass, the artist inevitably also works in at least one other medium: light. Light reflects, refracts, and diffuses upon contact with glass, depending on how the piece is constructed.
