All water has a perfect memory and is forever trying to get back to where it was.
~Toni Morrison.

On earth, all life needs water to thrive. It is the source of life, the vehicle of cleansing, and the center of regeneration. From our spiritual selves to our bodily existence, we cannot live without it.

We are asking West Coast artists to take a dive into the deep for Shimmer. Perched at the edge of the Pacific Ocean, the West Coast is extremely dynamic and complex. We experience water in its absence, its fury, and spiritual significance from crashing waves and rushing rapids to gurgling flows and gentle splashes. Show us how your have rendered these in your creative practice.

Open to all San Francisco Bay Area residents, age 18 and older. All fine arts visual media will be considered. Work must be able to fit through a standard-sized door (80" x 35") and weigh less than 50 lbs. Framed 2D work must be wired (no sawtooth hangers). Alternative display methods may be used with the approval of Abrams Claghorn Gallery, and the artist must supply any special hardware. We reserve the right to refuse works not accurately represented by the digital images submitted.

2D, 3D, and video works accepted.
